Today I emailed a past client just to touch base, fill her in on my life and asking about hers. In her response back she made the comment that 'we all seem to always be waiting for something' and it struck me as such a profound statement.
Waiting....
Waiting for the coffee to stop brewing
Waiting for the shower water to get warm
Waiting for the computer to boot up
Waiting for the elevator
Waiting for that contract an agent says is coming
Waiting for an agent to respond to my Buyers contract offer
Waiting at the check out line
Waiting for the gas tank to fill up
Waiting for the call, the appointment, the its approved
Waiting..... Waiting..... Waiting....
I find this to be so perplexing as I have always thought of myself as a pro-active sort of person. You know, the person that does not wait for others to make my life what I want it to be but instead jumps in and makes it happen. Yet here I am looking back over my day and find that I indeed have spent it waiting. Not a do nothing kind of waiting but waiting just the same
From the mundane of ordinary things to the complexities of the not so ordinary I have indeed, unknowingly, been waiting on something.
Funny how one word can send you in a direction that you never expected and make you wonder....
What is next on what has now become the endless list of waiting?
Oh yes, I invited this client out for coffee but of course we have to wait until after I get back from the real estate convention to do so.
Gee.... maybe I should just wait and see what other profound statement comes my way before I fret any deeper into this word 'waiting'.
