Every now and again a community around Annapolis just reminds me of whatI imagine the beach communities were like many years ago before the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Beach communities full of cottage style summer homes where the masses from Washington DC and Baltimore came to enjoy a summer vacation on the water. Pine Whiff Beach is one of those classic cottage community near Annapolis in an area called Edgewater.
Located on The South River with Warehouse Creek and Almshouse Creek on either side, Pine Whiff Beach dates back to the early 30's if not further. Many of the cottage style homes are still there and have been beautifully restored and made into year round homes. yet growth has happened also with new construction taking place in spurts whenever a lot became availabe. Homes range from low $200,000 for non waterfront needing renovation to mid $300,000 up for non waterfront cuties. Waterfront homes have not sold in awhile but my guess is they would be somewhere close to $900,000 or above. When its water, water everywhere you just never know.
If you are looking for a classiic, classy, beach cottage community Pine Whiff Beach just may be the community for you.
