Rent?? Buy?? Rent?? Buy?? Here's One Story That May Help With That Decision
A few weeks ago I wrote a post about helping a first time homebuyer. They had high expectations of what they wanted in their first home. Nothing new there as everyone has a wish list. Yes they were tired of renting but not quite sure if they would ever be able to find a home that would beat the one they were renting.
After a few meetings and looking at homes that were available in their price range there was one that stood out. Yep it stood out like crazy. Did it have everything on their wish list. Not by a long shot but it was a good neighborhood for them, had just the right amount of room and was a dynamite price. They saw the possibilities of what it could be.
They were excited about this home but the question came up 'we are going to have to do this and do that to make it ours and all that costs money'. But then they realized that was not going to be a problem. You see the savings they were making in rent payments versus mortgage payments was a tad over $700 a month. the wheels in their new homebuyer heads started churning.
This new home that they were considering that needed some work to make their own was actually saving them $700 a month in payments. they easily made those rental payments so now they would easily have the extra money each month to start fixing up this new home the way they wanted it to be. Their are alreay plans on paper for a kitchen upgrade, new carpet or maybe hardwood floors, paint for the walls and a few other things as well. And thats because it will be theirs. And with a savings of $700 per month they will have some room to budget for the upgrades and have things done in no time. How nice is that?
Rent?? Buy?? Rent?? Buy?? We go to settlement the end of the month.
If you would like to see what is out there in homes to buy in your price range just give me a call. I would love to help you get out from renting and into homeownership with a nice savings as well. It can be done.

A smart decision. I'm sure they will be happy homeowners at the end of this Leap Year February. Congratulations.
With low interest rates and lower home values, those in a position to buy rather than rent, should consider doing so.
It really does make sense to look into home ownership in this market. Renters will regret not making the move.
Home ownership is the way to go right now if you can. Literally saving hundreds a month. AWESOME!!
