They weren't planning on falling in love with this New England style log home tucked away on a deliciously hidden little street in Pasadena MD. They were buyers who were Annapolis born and bred. Annapolis was home, where her Grandma lived in Bay Ridge and many a summer day was spent on the water, in the water and at the water. But as many a story of a house goes there is always that one special person who keeps hearing their name being called over and over. And so the story of a house continues with each new owner.
It was quite the shabby little log cabin in the woods. Red carpet everywhere, no storage, no garage for their love of Classic Cars nor even a sidewalk to the front door. Just a path through the woodsy underbrush that the previous owner had kept as his front yard. What kept calling their name was something they saw deeper than just red carpet. They saw a beautifully built authentic New England log home. A story of a house where the logs used were hand cut, not machine cut, allowing their beauty to show on the interior as well as the exterior of the cabin. They saw a story of a house where this gorgeous floor to ceiling stone fireplace was laid by a master stone smith where rocking chairs were begging to be place on the incredible front and side porches. And they saw the story of house with a location that coul be real workable. After all, finding this New England log cabin nestled right in the mainstream of life when they needed to be there yet hidden just enough that the hustle and bustle seemed miles away.
Over the years the story of the house has grown and the new homeowners lovingly turned their little log cabin, sitting in the middle of nowhere, into a beautiful retreat made for everyday living. The square footage more than doubled as they expanded to make the original log cabin more comfortable for year round living and adding an in-law/guest house (It has been used both ways by the homeowners). The little log cabin was definitely smiling from corner to corner inside and out.
As happens with all of us, as time and years fly by, we realize it is time for the next phase of ones life. In this case a need for an even slower and more gentle lifestyle. The story of the house which started out as a shabby hidden gem is now for sale and looking for the next people who will continue the story.
So goes the Story of A House. This story is about a real house. A house at 202 Pinewood Dr in Pasadena. If you would like to be the rest of the story to this very special house or are just looking for some more information, feel free to give me a shout anytime. All my info is at the bottom of this post.
