Annapolis Md Homes and More: You Can't Help But Feel The Excitement!!

You Can't Help But Feel The Excitement!!

Elm St Today when I woke up it was dreary, overcast and spitting rain. Oh my, why today of all days? After all, it's Sunday and I am holding an Open House today. So be it I said, rain or shine this Open House is going to take place.

The Sellers had worked diligently to make the house ready and I worked diligently to put the signs out and to prepare the brochures. I headed out early to set everything up. As I was driving to the property the clouds parted, the rain stopped and the sun peaked through. Thank you I said as I pulled into the driveway.

I barely got all the lights on and the extra signs out front when the cars started pulling in. For two hours straight Buyers came through. Buyers mind you, not just looky lou's or nosey neighbors (OK maybe a few) but real honest to goodness Buyers.  How could this be? With all the negative press out there that shouts Buyers beware here were lots of Buyers looking. Happy Buyers, qualified Buyers.

Life is good. The old saying that you attract what you think truly was working once again. In spite of the dreary weather and negative press I was holding an open house because I have faith in what I do as a professional, a Realtor. I love selling homes no matter what the forecast is, rain or shine, good or bad market. I made my own forecast and spread it among each who came through the door. It was a great Open House.

For those who think the market is bad then it is. But for those of us who think it is a great market, guess what, it is. Buyers are out there looking for someone to help them see what a great time it is to be a buyer. You can't help but feel the excitement when you are the one spreading it.

Amen! If you keep telling people the sky is falling, they'll start to look up. I'm focusing on the positives in my local market and there is good news out there. Thanks for sharing your story, Martha.

Martha, you have more faith in OH than I do!  I'm glad they work for you... maybe you can send some of your fairy dust my way before my next OH on the 29th.  Did you do anything more than signs?

We reap what we sow, when people ask hows the market, I say I'm very busy. Does that answer their question no, but my answer to their question, I'm happy because I'm busy.. if you want to be depressed go to my competitors office, and have a nice day.Steve

Margaret- Just bring your excitement and spread it around. To answer your question I did add the OH to every website out there (no newspaper advertising) but every buyer who came through did so from the signs. Spread them far, wide and out early (Friday nite) are my rules. I do not find a Saturday OH to be as productive as people seem to be pre-occupied with errands, ball games etc but Sundays are another story. Short and sweet from 1-3.

Martha, you should re-post this on the "Secret" group!  I hate open houses, but business has been great!  I love your enthusiasm!  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
