This year I am serving on the Maryland Association of Realtors Legislative Committee for 2014. Today was my first meeting.
It was also the day I saw how serious these committee members were. The room was full of Brokers, Realtors®, a few lawyers and staff representing every County in the State of Maryland. This group of people were listening hard when it came to anything that speaks to or affects homeownership or their profession.
Personal Tablets were definitely being used by many. The Realtor® next to me was taking notes, and looking up legislation on hers. And she also was emailing with the outside world. Guessing it had to do with business going on.
I must say I was delighted to see some familiar faces on the committee. Spoke with a few after the meeting and may have made a connection for a client of mine. Added bonus for sure.
The Committee meets once a week, every week through March. Some days are goiung to be around 2 hours and others may be hours more. We may even rally at the state house if something needs to be said really loud.
I must say..... This is going to be very interesting.
