Annapolis Md Homes and More: Downtime Around Annapolis- Jonas Green Park

Downtime Around Annapolis- Jonas Green Park

Downtime Around Annapolis- Jonas Green Park

Annapolis and Anne Arundel County is surrounded by water yet not all residents have access to it. Our laws here say we are riparian state which means much of the waterfront land in the area is owned by the individual who owns the land abutting said waterway. There are some communities where water usage is allowed by all within that community. But for the inlanders whose community is not adjacent to water then they must find a State or County owned park in order to enjoy the water. Jonas Green Park is one such park.

Located on the East side of the Naval Academy Bridge crossing the Severn River. It was developed when the new and higher bridge was built and a portion of the old bridge left as a fishing bridge of sorts. Though swimming is not allowed from the shoreline it is the perfect spot for picnics, windsurfing and even just catching some rays. Jonas Green Park is also a photographers paradise for catching some of the most beautiful sunsets ever.

All in all when you are looking for some relaxing downtime around Annapolis, Jonas Green Park is a wonderful spot for doing just that.

Martha,  It is very intersting how real estate plays out in different parts of the country.  Joans Park sounds like a great place to hang out and enjoy the water front.

Yes it is Belinda. We are so different from the west Coast where the waterfront is for everyone. here the vast majority of waterfront is privately owned. That makes our waterfront parks very special places indeed.
