Annapolis Md Homes and More: My Internet Presence Has Been Interrupted

My Internet Presence Has Been Interrupted

Yesterday was a day I hope to never have to maneuver through ever again. It was website hell like I have never experienced.

I have been moving my websites over to Wordpress sites. From all I have been hearing Wordpress is the way to go for better presence, better SEO better everything. My original website was a template site and though I loved it and it was easy and fun to update and change it was producing very few leads if any. Made no difference how much I marketed it just remained a beautiful static website with no leads. So last year I started experimenting with new sites.

Now for the record I am not a Wordpress junkie. I find it overwhelming and confusing and not easy or fun to play with. With that said I chose two companies that specialize in Wordpress real estate websites to get me up and running.

It has been challenging to say the least. On one the IDX platform is the worst out there I have ever seen and trying to get that corrected has been next to impossible. The other has a much better IDX site but does not offer some of the social media platforms that make the other one so appealing. So I decided to reverse the domain names on the two sites and as of today neither site is available on the web. Nope, nada, not at all.

I guess its an improvement though from earlier in the day when I found my main published email had not been working for a few days. At least that is up and running correctly now. But alas my websites have not and will not be unless I figure out how to make them visible this weekend.

I am working on it but in the meantime I have appointments to attend to and places to be so it will be a hit and miss opportunity through the weekend.

Funny how naked I feel and withdrawn from the cyber space world. I have worked so hard to make my presence known and now, nothing.

I am looking for this weekend to move along quickly so that I can hopefully be back up and running on Monday. In the meantime...

Good morning Martha. This is too complicated for me but the frustration associated with change is universal and computer stuff can make you crazy. I hope today is better.

Ritchie you have that right. This has been quite stressfull and disappointing too. Ahhh the curses of technology that come our way.

Sheila today is better but still no websites. My frustration has turned to acceptance of something I can not get fixed till Monday so I will go forward in spite of myself.

I've got a couple WordPress blogs that are getting me great results.  I hope you find the same.

How frustrating Martha and aggravating! It's a small consolation but you have diversified and still have an online presence even when your websites are temporarily MIA. I hope it gets resolved quickly.

Martha, Good luck getting it all fixed quickly!  I was fortunate to have someone initially set up our WP site a couple of years ago.  It took me a bit to work up the know how to tinker with it, and in February/March basically changed everything but the URL.  Once I grasped what to do, it wasn't so bad.  And fortunately I have Rain friends that run the same set up, so I can always bounce things off them when I don't know.  Bill

Chris Ann- I hoping to have great results too that is the main reason I switched. I just keep thinking this too shall pass.

I know Andrea but I still feel so naked without my websites up and running

So Bill why have you not moved your domain name over? I see it is still with IHouse? I let that account go totally after years of having. Bittersweet for sure.
