Out and About Loving Annapolis
Skippers Pier and Dock Bar
After attending a Home Show with a girfriend last Saturday we decided to grab some lunch before parting ways. And with miles and miles of shoreline gracing every corner of our county we are blessed with many wonderful waterfront restaurants to choose from.
Since we were already on the southern end of the county we headed to Deale and stopped in Skippers Pier for lunch.
Located on Rockhold Creek Skippers Pier is tucked away at the end of a residential area. It offers inside and waterside dining and this winter day inside was are only choice. We chose the more casual side of the restaurant and settled inside a booth overlooking the pier and water.
We both ordered cream of crab soup and a sandwich. The soup was outstanding and the sandwiches were excellent. And to top it all off our server always seemed to appear at just the right moment.
Choosing Skippers Pier for lunch that day was the perfect spot for a winter time waterfront dining experience. It is a place well worth stopping into when in the south county area.

Hi Martha...Even though I live on the water every time I have the opportunity to dine by the water, I do it.
Your lunch sounded delicious.
Kate
This is somewhere I've never heard of, let alone dined there, and I do get down that way fairly often. I'll have to try it out next time.
Hey, great post. Thanks for the information about your area.
Martha, Thanks for the post. I always think the tucked away restaurants that only the locals know about are the best kept secrets. There is a restaurant off of route 4, on the way to Solomon's Island on Broome Island Road called Stoneys. Actually, I think they opened on on Solomons since I have been down there.
Kathleen- Dining at a waterfront restaurant is my favorite dining experience too. I tend to visit the inland restaurants in the wintertime but this day was just too pretty so waterfront it was. I must be itching for summertime.
Margaret- Please do. The chef does a great job and the service was outstanding. maybe you and I will have to do lunch there. remember I owe you :)
Brian- Thanks and you are welcome
Audrey- Been there too and yes they did open one in Solomons as well. Very nice.
